The Maafa celebration on July 19 gives descendants of the captured and enslaved from Africa the opportunity to commemorate the millions of lives snuffed out from the dreadful Trans-Atlantic slave trade.
In times past honey was used not just to sweeten, but as a healer of wounds and burns. We, as Black women, know the necessity of healing our generational ties and tapping into the energy of our ancestors. And we know how important is to break the wounded bonds so that we may present our best, healed selves to our progeny.
This ritual starts you on the path to generational healing.
You'll need honey, a candle of any color, and a small bowl.
