Fixed Mercury Dimes

Mercury Dimes are 90% silver dimes minted between 1916-1944, and are a tool of conjure people everywhere. It is said that you can't really perform Hoodoo unless you have one.

Mercury Dimes are sometimes worn around the ankle for protection after a hole is drilled in them, but they are also carried. My Dimes are fixed, in a complicated process that I do myself.

I take the dimes in a wooden bowl to the crossroads, where I offer Papa Legba whiskey and water. In silence, I dig a hole in the ground, cover the dimes with soil, and anoint them with whiskey, oil, abre camino herbs and Abtina powder. Then I speak my secret petition to Papa Legba and wait for his response. This can take hours, but when I finally receive his affirmation I set the bowl alight. I wait nine minutes before smothering the flames with more dirt and Abtina Powder. Then I take the bowl home, save the dirt for other conjure, and clean the dimes with Florida Water cologne.

And the dimes are fixed.

Because the process is intensive I only do a few at a time. So while the dimes aren't a one time only offering, they are very limited and I'm not sure when I'll bring them back.
